Vithalgarh or Vithalgadh (વિઠ્ઠલગઢ) was a princely state in India, today situated in the Surendra Nagar district, in the state of Gujarat, India.
Title of the prince: Thakor.
Dynasty: Phanse, of the Chandraseniya Kayastha caste.
Religion: Hindu.
Area: 56 square kilometers, and 11 villages.
Population: 4,073 people in the year 1931.
Current head of the dynasty: unknown.
History: The Maratha emperors granted lands to the founder of the ruling family for their support against the Mughal Empire. The Thakor of the state of Vithalgarh also possessed a jagir in the princely state of Baroda and numerous villages in the Satara district of the Bombay Presidency. The former native state did not pay tribute to other princely states.
In 1930, the Thakor of Vithalgadh was Phanse Ramchandrarao, also known as Vijaysinhji.
In 1939, Vithalgarh was incorporated into the princely states of Baroda. In 1947, the territory was incorporated into the Indian Union.
